Mark schedules and attends meetings with state constitutional officers, legislators, staff and agency directors; tracks and analyzes legislation; drafts letters of support and opposition on bills and contributes to McCallum Group’s weekly Sacramento Report

Time spent in the classroom fuels Mark’s interest in advocating for education. Prior to his work with McCallum Group, Mr. MacDonald taught sixth grade at a school in Citrus Heights, California for three years. He was the student council moderator at the school and received the Teacher of Year award in his final year of teaching there.

Born and raised in Sacramento, California, Mark was a high school All-American in water polo at Jesuit High School and went on to play water polo at UC Berkeley. He received his Master of Arts degree in Government from California State University Sacramento and graduated from Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.

“At McCallum Group we always have our ear to the ground regarding issues affecting our clients. It’s very stimulating to utilize our knowledge of those issues to develop public policy. As a result, I really enjoy the work we do and the people we work with.”
